Aprés Londres. After London, let's reflect

Early Saturday morning my host mom drove me to the trains tation to get on the bus headed to England. I was really tired, and not as excited as i thought i would be. I think there is kind of a spark missing in me these days, it makes me sad. anyway i got on the bus and we drove a long time, then got on a ferrie to cross the english channel, then drove some more.

1st stop: Canterbury, England.
It was really cute, with cobblestone streets and all that jazz, there were also a ton of tourist which drives me crazy. Although it was beautiful, it was so over crowded. Some of my friends from America and i did a little shopping , then shoved ourselves in a red phone booth for some pcitures.

We got back on the bus and drove more this time to LOndon. It was dinner time so me and some more exhcange student friends walked aroung london looking for food. We went to some crazy chinese resturant and then sat t tables that we got yelled at for using.

the hotle we stayed at was okay, rather boring though. nothing happened there. Everyone was always so tired it was straight to bed.

The next day we went to a crazy overcrowded waax museum in LOdon, then to windsor castle where the queen and the princes live, my future husband. That tour was cool, i like being able to say that i have been there. then we went back into the city for more running around london by night.

The next day was our free day. It was great. We bought passes to the LOndo undergorund and went wild, polatform 9 3/4, Buckingham palce, big ben, westminister abbey, and everywhere. IT was great just running around the city. i got home at 5:45 in the morning on Tuesday.

The trip was really fun. IT wasnt what i expected it to be, but it was a different kind of great. IU always have this sad gut feeling that doesnt let me see things in a whole positive way and this feeling is really hard to get rid of. IT made my london trip a little homesickey, i was thinking how great it would have been to have my mom and sister with me in harrods, or my daddy and i on the 'LOndon eye' huge ferrise wheel.

Another scattered blog entery by me. yup.

C'est Top

After a long week, and things not working out at all it is finally Friday night. I was planning on going out with some friends tonight but they all bailed, their loss i guess. It brought my mood down a bit, then i remembered that i was going to London tomorrow morning, then i remembered that i dont have school for a week. This brought my mood back up, then i remembered i wont get to see that cute guy to night, mood back down. I guess i'm a little crazy that way.

Up and down alot, it seems to be the pattern of many exchnage students here. You have your good days and bad days. When exchange students have bad days, they are really bad. this is becasue when most of you have a bad day you can go home and talk to your family, or easily call them. for exchange students that is not really possible so that makes it trés tricky.

On the bright side, when we are in a good mood, its a goood mood. We get to do cool things like go to England and France. We get to pick up cool foreign accents.

I dont know where this rambling is going, but i am home alone because my host family is seeing a play, and i have got nothing better to do. its about 8:15 pm here and i may go to bed soon because i am just that bored.

I had a surprise chat with my mother yesterday on skype, that definately brightened my day. thanks mommy, you give me strength. yes, very cliché, but I dont care, i miss my mommy! and daddy! and sister, and best friends, and language, and city, and school, etc.

life tough but i know this is all a blessing, no matter how long my belgium stay lasts, it has made me realize some things, like how much i love everything about my life at home and will never ever take any of it for granted again.

I should probably finished this A.D.H.D blog entery and get myself some sleep, or try to.

it's the weekend

it's saturday morning. We celebrated a fellow exchange students birthday last night and had a movie marathon. then today im going to stay at another exchange students house and hopefully we're all gonna take the train and travel to some other city tomorrow. I am not really at my house here this weekend because my host mom is at the sea. I talked to my parents today at 7:00 a.m. (10:00p.m. their time), which was amazing, even if it was really early in the morning. I guess i would be awake anyway though because i have major problems sleeping in, or just sleeping at all here.

Rotex kayak trip

Rotex planned a kayak trip for all the exchange students in Belgium that wanted to go. I like to stay as busy as possible and all most of my exchange student friends from Tournai were going. We had to catch a train at 6:05 in the morning, ride for 2 hours, catch another, then change trains one more time. i dunno even know what city we ended up in, but apparently it was the right one because all the rotary clubs were waiting. There were 2 person kayaks so my friend Alé, from bolivia, and i were parnters. We were pretty excited to kayak. Once in the water we could hardly go straight and kept running into rocks. we kayaked down a river for 2 hours. then stopped for lunch and went 3 more hours. By the end i was soaked and my arms hurt so bad, and my hands are blistered. When we finally got out of the boat we found out that our train was leaving in 5 minutes. Soaked shoes and all we ran to the station and catch the train. and 3 hours or so later i was back in Tournai.

Try

to think positive.

thats my goal.
